It is important to take the following precautions when undergoing a root canal treatment
- Wait for the anesthesia to wear off before starting to chew. The anesthesia normally lasts between 1 and 2 hours.
- Do not chew hard foods (peanuts, almonds, chewy foods, etc.) during the time between the root canal treatment and the final reconstruction of the tooth.
- Be very careful when flossing to prevent the putty from coming out, considering that a temporary cement (putty) is used.
- The medication (analgesic-anti-inflammatory) must be followed to the letter, following the schedules detailed in the prescription.
- Do not consume alcoholic beverages during the medication period.
