An x-ray is a complementary diagnostic test that is performed in order to obtain images of the inside of the body, in this case bones and teeth, being able to accurately identify the position and size of the teeth, helps us considerably to be able to provide the appropriate dental treatment.
There are two types of x-rays that are generally performed, these are:
Panoramic X-ray
It shows a broad view of both jaws, problems such as retained teeth, bone abnormalities, cysts, fractures, treatments already performed.
Periapical X-rays
They show you the entire tooth, from the exposed crown to the tip of the root and the supporting tissues of the tooth
